Nominees at the Latin Grammy the album by Septeto Santiaguero with Cheo Feliciano, Rubén Blades and El Canario

"Vamos pa' la fiesta", the new Septeto Santiaguero album with important collaboration such as Cheo Feliciano, Rubén Blades and El Canario, has been nominated to the Latin Grammy in the Traditional Tropical Music category. This is the second time nomination for Septeto Santiaguero; which had been nominated in 2011 with the album "Oye mi son santiaguero", in the same category.
Fernando Dewar, Septeto Santiaguero director, stated after knowing the nomination: "The importance of this nomination its already an award and we want to dedicate it to the master Cheo Feliciano. Our best wishes for Cheo and for a quick recovery".
In "Vamos pa' la fiesta", Septeto Santiaguero has deluxe collaborators, among others, Cheo Feliciano, Rubén Blades, José Alberto El Canario, Edwin Colón Zayas, Luisito Quintero and Jimmy Bosch.
About the participation in the album, Rubén Blades said: "It is a privilege and an honor participate with Septeto Santiaguero album. Cuba and its precedents represents a basis which came of the development of music in America and Caribe. Being invited by Santiago de Cuba to take part of its sons work, its something that honours me".
In announcing this award, José Alberto El Canario stated: "For me it has been a great honour to collaborate with Septeto Santiaguero in this incredible album. Thanks a lot to all people for this opportunity".
About Septeto Santiaguero: Septeto Santiaguero was created in Santiago de Cuba on February 2 of 1995 by Fernando Dewar, who is still in charge of the direction. Septeto Santiaguero has already recorded six albums. The most recent, "Vamos pa' la fiesta" (Picap, 2012) was awarded with the Cubadisco Award 2013 in traditional and popular music and selected by About.com as one of the 10 must world music albums in 2012.
The previous album, "Oye mi son santiaguero" (Picap, 2010), was awarded in Cubadisco Awards 2011 and the same year was nominated to the Latin Grammy in traditional tropical music. Since its creation Septeto Santiaguero has been playing in more than 25 countries in América, Europe and Africa.
