LOVINGS returns with ‘SOL’, a new album that continues the band’s story

The band LOVINGS presents ‘SOL’, a new record marking the return of the group and recapturing the spirit with which they first became known in the early 1980s.

Formed in 1980 in Montgat (Barcelona), LOVINGS was made up of Jordi Torrent, Celso García, Pep Soldevila, and Carlos Tomás. With a direct, powerful, and youthful sound, the band toured across Spain between 1980 and 1982, creating a style defined by the energy of rock and pop of that era.

After that first phase, Jordi Torrent continued his musical journey with several solo works, releasing the albums ‘Rojo’ (2006), ‘Tiempos modernos’ (2013), and ‘Díptic’ (2018). Now, decades later, the LOVINGS project is reactivated with the recording of ‘SOL’, an album that includes new compositions by Torrent and opens a new creative chapter for the band.

The album was recorded between June and December 2025 at Soiart Estudis, with David Villalba as sound engineer, also handling the mixing and mastering. The music production was led by Jordi Fernández and Jordi Torrent, reinforcing the collective spirit of this return.

‘SOL’ features ten songs that maintain Jordi Torrent’s compositional essence, combining direct melodies, pop sensibility, and a mature reflection on the passage of time. Highlights include tracks such as ‘Buenos tiempos’, ‘Somnis trencats’, and ‘Tan cerca de tus labios’, which reflect different emotional moments of the project.

The album also features a special collaboration with Rosa Ortiz, who provides lead vocals on ‘Dans ton poing’, a track for which she is also co-author of the lyrics. This piece adds a new texture to the album and expands the band’s sonic range.

With ‘SOL’, LOVINGS reconnects with its musical project, bridging the past and present of the band. This return preserves the group’s essence while simultaneously opening the door to a new creative stage.
